Getting Started
Download the .dmg from the Download page - drag Admin-O into Applications, and launch it. On first run, macOS Gatekeeper may require you to approve the app under System Settings → Privacy & Security. To use a USB SI card reader, you will need install the Silicon Labs CP210x VCP (Virtual COM Port) driver — most SI stations use this USB-to-serial chipset, and macOS will not recognise the reader without it.
Organising a Race
Create an event. Set up courses manually or import from course-planning software like Condes. Define classes and map them to courses. Import or manually enter competitors with SI card numbers. Generate start lists. Read cards and view results. Start lists and results can be exported as IOF XML for external services such as Livelox and O-result. For larger events, Admin-O supports multiple stages and a master/slave setup, allowing multiple read/print stations at the check-out to share a single common database. Publishing results live to liveresults.orientering.se is integrated.
Reading SI Cards
Connect an SI card reader (SRR, BSF7/8, or SI Master station) via USB. Admin-O detects the reader automatically and connects. Insert a card to read punch times; readings are stored locally and matched against entries by SI card number. If no entry is found you can input a new participant.
Printers & Receipts
Receipts are printed with both manual and automatic trigger. Admin-O prints through the standard macOS printing system (CUPS), so any printer must be installed and working as a regular macOS printer first. This applies to POS/receipt printers too: if the manufacturer does not provide a macOS driver, CUPS may not print correctly. Check the manufacturer's site for a macOS/CUPS driver, or look for a generic ESC/POS CUPS driver.
Optional: Linking Your Account (My Admin-O)
Admin-O works fully offline. If you do want to sync entries and results online, you may sign up on for the free service "My Admin-O".

Why

Admin-O was written to give the orienteering community a Mac-native way to organise races and read SI cards. Admin-O is cakeware, so if you like it or it made your race day a bit easier: you can pay back by bringing a cake to your next club meeting or organise an extra race/training.

Privacy

All data entered into Admin-O stays within the app and its companion website, except where you explicitly choose to publish results to live or other online results services. Data is never shared with third parties, sold, or used for commercial or advertising purposes.
